so my soc teacher in my critical thinking class had an amazing point the other day.

STUDENT1: there's nothing worse than a sucker who believes everything they hear and doesn't think about it.

TEACHER: there are alot of suckers out there and it's unfortunate that they don't investigate all the possibilities.

STUDENT2: what if your a born sucker? i am, i'm usually like "really? wow!...oh wait..."

TEACHER: then your not a born sucker. because you said 'oh wait'. the only thing worse than a sucker is someone who doesn't trust anyone and refuses to believe anything; someone who says "your all trying to screw me and i don't believe anything you tell me". that usually comes off as arrogant, and close minded. and there's nothing worse than a close minded person who is unwilling to learn.

i totally agree! and sadly, sometimes i think perhaps i've turned into that person. turned into someone who doesn't trust anyone. but luckily i'm not too close minded to be shown that...i hope.

i think it's important to know what you believe, but if you can't hear what someone else has to say because your too insecure in your beliefs to let them be challenged then you are worse than a sucker. your a fool.
